Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Substation Electrical Manager – Arcadis, North America to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team in the USA. The role involves project management, engineering, proposal development, and business growth within the Power Delivery & Renewable sector. The candidate will oversee project execution, client engagement, and coordinate with various departments and teams, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and policies. The position includes hands-on substation electrical engineering across all voltage classes, design, and studies for utility and developer clients in North America. Collaboration with renewable energy teams (wind, solar, BESS, Green H2) and other business units is also expected. The role aims to improve quality of life through impactful projects. Role accountabilities:
Participate in substation design at all project stages, including concept, feasibility, detailed design, procurement, and asset management. Coordinate design activities across disciplines to maintain schedules and ensure successful project completion. Lead and contribute to project estimates, proposals, client engagement, and business development. Manage and mentor the Substation Electrical team, lead design on large projects, and perform quality reviews. Serve as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, or Technical Lead to support business growth and client relations. Mentor junior staff and conduct quality assurance on engineering work. Travel up to 30% within North America and internationally may be required. Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 10 years of direct substation electrical engineering and design experience. Experience with physical layouts, bus configurations, grounding, control buildings, HV/EHV design, and studies. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS, and other engineering software. Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, and local codes. Preferred:
PE license. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
