Supervisor, Ophthalmic Services
at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This role manages support services such as visual fields, photography, and echography, collaborating with technical support department managers. It involves supervising technical and coordinator staff in assigned areas. Core Job Responsibilities
Provide daily direction to ophthalmic technicians, patient coordinators, and support staff. Adjust schedules based on patient flow, staffing, and clinic needs. Respond to clinical and patient demands to optimize staff utilization and patient flow. Perform duties as an ophthalmic technician or support personnel, with training provided if necessary. Maintain understanding of functions performed by ophthalmic specialists and support staff. Manage clinical information systems supporting technical functions. Schedule time in clinical departments to observe patient flow and maintain skills. Coordinate staffing needs with physicians and providers. Identify training needs and provide mentorship to staff. Ensure daily operations meet standards of care and patient needs. Establish and assess internal controls and compliance with policies. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in relevant specialty (COA or COT). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of management principles and clinical systems. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff. The position is full-time, with competitive salaries and benefits, including medical, dental, and tuition remission.
