Turbocharged high-performance engine developer and manufacturer, Banks Power, is looking for a skilled and driven Electronics Technician to build, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental electronics systems, subsystems and equipment in support of development of new products and applications. You will be working in and around the automotive/vehicle environment, and in particular the vehicle's under-hood "engine bay". You will be working with existing vehicle electronic engine control systems, sensors and harnessing, and assisting engineers with research, development and validation of new products that interface with such systems. Main responsibilities Assemble, test, and validate prototype wiring harnesses in support of development of new products/applications by understanding and interpreting Engineering blueprintsResearch and identify function specific vehicle connectors and terminals & document findings to inform Engineering designPerform installation of prototypes, pre-production systems and sub-systems for Engineering evaluationAssemble SMT (Surface-Mount Technology) and thru-hole printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) using industry-standard/proper soldering and re-work techniquesRepair diagnosed circuitry using thru-hole and SMD (surface-mount-device) re-work/soldering equipment and observing industry-standard ESD-preventive proceduresTroubleshoot/diagnose electronic circuitry down to the component level using test equipment (oscilloscopes, VOMs, signal generators, etc...), schematic circuit diagrams and component data sheetsCharacterize and document electrical/electronic/CAN signals in vehicles utilizing test equipment (including oscilloscope and VOM) or by analysis of manuals, schematics, and wiring diagramsRecommend changes in circuitry, harnesses, or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenancePerform First Article Inspection on production components (harnesses, PCBAs, etc.)Set up standard test apparatus or circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliabilityOrganize, maintain and track stock levels of prototype parts inventoryQualificationsRequiredA minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Electronics Technician, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProficient at building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying developmental electronic systemsPossess knowledge of Electrical circuit theoryPossess automotive technician knowledgeSkilled in soldering and crimpingPrior CAD experienceDetail-oriented, ability to follow instructions and learnEffectively deal with changing demands and prioritiesPreferredAS degree in Electronics TechnologyAbility to cleanly and professionally assemble SMT (Surface-Mount Technology) and thru-hole printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) using industry-standard/proper soldering and re-work techniquesBe aware of and observe proper ESD practicesDirect knowledge/experience with Altium & SolidWorksHourly pay$25-$30 USDActual pay offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.BenefitsMedical, dental and vision insuranceCompany-paid basic life, AD&D and long-term disability insuranceEmployee Assistance Program, a confidential program dedicated to supporting the emotional health and well-being of our employees and their families401(k) and 401(k) matchingVacation, Paid Time Off and Sick LeavePerksA family-oriented culture that promotes work-life balance; an incredible and effective leadership team that genuinely cares about its team membersOpen door policy, promote from withinVeteran-friendlyEmployee Service and Recognition ProgramFood Truck FridaysEmployee Referral ProgramEducation Assistance ProgramFriends & Family discount on our top-line power-enhancing productsEmployee discount programs that help you save on family entertainment and thousands of itemsAnd much more!Company DescriptionBanks are engine people.
