An exciting career opportunity is now available for a Operating Room Surgical Technician to join a financially stable and growing hospital in warm and sunny Central California. The Operating Room Surgery Technologist will join a full-service community hospital, offering comprehensive medical, surgical and therapeutic services.
The Operating Room Surgical Technician will play an important role in surgical procedure in the Operating Room and will assist physicians and nurses during the operations as well as prepping the surgical equipment before procedures. The Operating Room Surgical Technician will hand the sterilized and appropriate instruments to doctors and nurses in the Operating Room.
The Operating Room Surgical Technician collaborates with the Sterile Processing Department in ensuring instruments are restocked and in proper working order. The Operating Room Surgical Technician will play vital role that the Operating Room and PACU remain aseptic environments to prevent infection and the surgical technologist ensures and maintains the sterility of these areas.
The Operating Room Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing the sterile field for surgical operations including the setup of sterile instruments, assisting surgeons in gowning and gloving, and draping patients for surgery. The Operating Room Surgical Technician will directly supports the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons' needs during course of surgery.
The Operating Room Surgical Technician will support the functionality of the department by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. The Operating Room Surgical Technician will adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or may help orient other staff to the department.
