Recreation Associate Positions
Recreation Associate positions perform classes, leagues & programs for residents of all ages. Actual work time is dependent on the program and staffing needs of the City. Employment is at-will, and may be terminated at any time by the City. Examples of Duties
Essential functions include:
- Season: Summer Positions: Wiberg Aquatic Center Pool Attendant Lifeguard Water Safety Instructor Swim Lesson Supervisor Aquatic Center Manager Assistant Pool Manager Schedule: Varied start dates with a daily schedule of operation 7 days per week.
- Season: Summer Position: Summer Camp Day Camp Leader Schedule: Varied start dates with a weekly schedule Monday Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
- Season: Summer Position: Youth Sports Umpire Baseball; Softball Supervisor T-Ball Schedule: Varied start dates ranging between May through August Monday - Friday.
- Season: Summer Position: Adult Sports Umpire Softball Schedule: Varied start dates ranging between May through August.
- Season: Summer Position: Tennis Instructor Schedule: June - August Classes are morning and afternoon, Monday -Friday.
- Season: Summer Position: Adult Instructional Programs Aquatic Exercise Yoga Fitness & Pilates Lap & Open Swim.
- Season: Basketball (Winter only) Position: Youth Sports Flag Football Official Basketball Scorer Schedule: Varied start dates ranging between September through March.
- Season: Fall only Position: Adult Instructional Programs Dance Open Basketball Open Volleyball Aqua Exercise / Dance Yoga /Fitness / Pilates Lap & Open Swim Schedule: September through March.
Typical Qualifications
Requirements:
- Requires some experience and training or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills for program teaching.
- Ability to work the entire program or session.

The selection process will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: training and experience evaluation; oral or performance tests; or other assessment methods. The City reserves the right to call only the most qualified candidates for employment interviews.
