Senior Network Engineer
to support a high-priority defense client in Honolulu, HI. This is a
direct hire opportunity
supporting classified network infrastructure in a mission-critical environment. You’ll lead efforts in secure communications, CSfC implementations, and cross-domain solution integration—acting as a senior resource for Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalations, design packages, and on-site system delivery. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert-level support in CSfC-based network architecture and design Lead integration, O&M, and engineering activities in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.) Configure and manage network components including VPNs, firewalls, intrusion detection, and secure gateways Support PKI infrastructure and certificate authority configurations (ISC, Red Hat, MS Server) Write and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and configuration guides Deliver on-site training to users and administrators post-installation Author Engineering Design Packages and implementation project plans Troubleshoot complex issues and lead Tier 2/3 escalations during outages Apply DoD STIGs, IAVAs, and other compliance frameworks Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to design secure, scalable infrastructure Travel occasionally (under 20%) for installs and assessments Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizen with an
active Top Secret clearance (T5 investigation) Minimum 10 years of network engineering experience (12 years with BS, 10 with MS) Expertise with one or more networking platforms: Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc. Demonstrated success in CSfC-based environments Experience with network design, systems integration, and secure communications Advanced scripting and automation capabilities Active professional networking certification such as: CCNP-Security CCNA HPE Aruba Networking Certified Professional – Switching One of the following DoD 8140 Certifications: SecurityX / CASP+ CCNP Security / CCSP / GCED / GCIA / GFACT / GCLD / GDSA Preferred Skills: Experience authoring design and implementation plans for complex secure networks Familiarity with NIAP, NSA CSfC, and DoD standards Ability to train technical and non-technical users effectively Exposure to Red Hat Certificate Systems or other secure PKI platforms Stable, long-term program Monday–Friday, day shift schedule (occasional evening/weekend as needed) Work conducted in secure office environment in Honolulu Seniority level
