Position Summary: The Radiology Tech is responsible for: Radiologic Technologists utilize ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic x-ray alongside cross training to Urgent Care Technicians. Must have an excellent knowledge of the human anatomy and pathology to provide quality films for interpretation. This position will perform diagnostic images onsite, triage urgent care patients to include but not limited all vital signs and medical histories, perform onsite diagnostic testing to include but not limited rapid strep, flu, and venipuncture. Preparing patient medical record for the provider. Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals. Computer data entry and workflow monitoring. Assesses environment to assure patient safety and determines appropriate equipment to use that meet the patient's needs. Maintains chain of custody for forensic collections. Promotes effective communications between patients, staff, physicians, and visitors. Provides knowledge of Urgent Care injuries and illnesses and facilitates early return to work. Performs surveillance exams: hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs. Performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening. Understands quality control and expected results for POCT tests performed. Discharges patients efficiently. Delivers patient care as identified by the Scope of Care of the Urgent Care Center. Effective communication demonstrates Caring, Compassion, and Cultural awareness. Able to function under stress and emergency situations with solid critical thinking skills. Ensures accurate documentation. Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment. Ability to utilize more than one computer system for registration, patient test resulting and insurance verification when covering front desk. Answers phones and faxes reports. This position requires flexibility in travel amongst all Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care Locations. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Hand and Wrist (Test both left and right sides) Grip a dynamometer for 10 seconds with a force > 10 lbs. Pinch together the thumb & forefinger for 10 seconds with a force > 2 lbs. Supported Elbows (Test both left and right sides) Rotate wrist from left to right while holding 10 lb. weight. Fully flex and extend elbow while holding a 10 lb. weight. Shoulders (Test both left and right sides) Sustain shoulder flexion > 135 degrees while holding 10 lb. weight. Sustain a shoulder shrug while holding 10 lb. weight in each hand. Legs Squat and hold position for 30 seconds. Kneel on a single knee, demonstrated on either left or right knee. Push and Pull Threshold Requirements These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis, Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD, Surveillance Program. Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
