Position Title: Test Engineer
Internal Title (SMX): Test Engineer II
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Washington, D.C.)
Clearance Required: Must be eligible for HSPD-12 (PIV) clearance
Employment Type: Full-Time (W-2)
Rate: $66.50/hour to $70.00/hour (W2)
Company Overview SMX Services and Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer to build and maintain testing frameworks that validate backend, API, and UI functionality of a cloud-integrated application system.
Key Responsibilities • Design automated and manual test plans/scripts • Perform backend validation, load tests, and regression testing • Collaborate with QA and developers in Agile sprints • Document issues and validate fixes • Assist in performance and usability testing
Minimum Qualifications • 4–6 years of experience in QA or test engineering • Familiarity with Selenium, Postman, or test automation tools • Understanding of CI/CD and release processes • SQL skills for backend validation
Preferred Qualifications • ISTQB or testing certifications • Performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter) • Federal program or ATO validation testing experience
Education • Bachelor's in Engineering, QA, or Computer Science —OR— • 6+ years testing experience
Security Requirements • U.S. Citizenship • Tier 1+ background investigation • Eligibility for HSPD-12 credentialing
