Job Summary
Coordinate the daily operation and work activities of the computerized placement component of Testing Services district-wide, including all Region 19 schools and some private and charter schools. Provide interpretation of federal, state, and local mandated Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) regulations. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position. Essential Functions
Assist the Director in managing the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of computerized placement testing and specialized testing projects. Coordinate and publicize district-wide schedules. Coordinate special testing projects at off-campus locations and make special accommodations. Implement and monitor online testing. Provide technical advice and information support for all other testing personnel at outlying campus testing centers to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and faculty directives, as well as the standardization of services district-wide.
Administer a variety of testing instruments for all assessment and placement testing to include all Region 19 schools and some private and charter schools. Perform Spanish placement, English as a Second Language (ESL), a variety of tests from other colleges and correspondence programs, and a variety of national and state certification tests. Ensure test instrument security and standardized administration according to strict guidelines.
Maintain software and course recommendation updates. Research and review new standardized test instruments. Coordinate course recommendation changes with instructional deans, coordinate and conduct multi-campus pilot testing, contractual special assessments on and off campus sites.
Provide on going direction and work assignments to assigned testing staff. Provide performance feedback and conduct performance evaluation for assigned staff. Coordinate staff work schedules and verify work hours of assigned staff. Provide staff training on new testing instruments and computerized testing. Evaluate, implement new assessment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and test publisher mandates.
Process completed tests, prepare, enter, and retrieve student test data in the institutional student information system. Maintain department files and temporary student testing files, compile testing statistical data for departmental reports and research new test instruments for appropriate use within the district.
Answer telephones, schedule appointments, provide informational materials, and answer questions. Operate a variety of office, test scanning, and computer equipment. Use current computer software, assess material needs, and order, receive, and maintain test instruments and supplies inventories.
Consult with Deans, discipline coordinators, and other college staff on testing related issues. Provide technical assistance to counselors and other college employees. Provide information briefings, orientations, and workshops on TSIA mandated testing requirements and other testing-related topics to various personnel within the district, including Region 19 schools and some private or charter schools. Participate in various institutional committees and special projects as assigned. Recommend changes to testing policies and procedures to the Director.
Serve as an additional Institutional Administrator in the ACCUPLACER test site for El Paso Community College, all Region 19 schools, and some private or charter schools.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
