The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery. Candidates must hold a valid state license and the required certifications. L&D travel experience is necessary for this position. The nurse will provide care for patients undergoing labor and delivery procedures. Nurses may be asked to float to other departments as needed, ensuring comprehensive patient care. Candidates must be familiar with various obstetric conditions and treatments. Responsibilities include monitoring maternal and fetal conditions, assisting in deliveries, and providing postpartum care. Nurses will be required to recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and provide appropriate interventions. Administering medications, including antihypertensives and insulin drips, will also be a part of the duties. The position demands the ability to manage high-risk labor and delivery situations.
