Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Network Systems Integrator
to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Tech Center. The UAS Network Systems Integrator will perform system-level installation, configuration, automation, testing, and analysis on Multi-layer Switches, Firewalls, Linux-based operating systems, and hypervisor-based environments, with a focus on network equipment considerations. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and integrate network configurations, firewall configurations, and related documentation in collaboration with software developers and systems engineers. Support full system installation images development within an Agile scrum development model on a biweekly schedule. Troubleshoot network issues on virtual and physical switches and firewalls. Design automated system and network configurations within a VMWare environment. Configure group policies and Active Directory manually and automatically. Develop system scripts in Bash, PowerShell, Java, and Python for automated network configuration and single-touch installation of network devices. Automate the creation, deployment, and configuration of virtual machines, containers, and networks for UAS system installation. Automate the deployment and configuration of virtual firewalls and Cloud Server Routers for streamlined installations. Create engineering technical materials such as system descriptions, network installation guides, data flow diagrams, and network diagrams.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: ABET-accredited Engineering or Computer Science Degree with at least six (6) years of engineering experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Extensive experience configuring Cisco switches (VLAN, VRF, routing protocols, Access Control Lists). Proficiency in network administration, remote network configuration, and firewall setup. Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell, including automation of system and application installations. Understanding of computing system architectures and virtual machine management. Command line expertise with UNIX-based or Windows operating systems. Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ SE and Network+ SE certification.
DESIRED SKILLS: Active CCNA certification. Experience with datacenter architectures, SDN, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible). Proficiency in technical documentation with Microsoft Office and Visio. Experience with Atlassian tools, software development, testing, and Uncrewed Aircraft Systems.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
