Job Title: Senior Network Architect Aruba Wireless & Cisco Technologies Location: Remote, but Client in NJ, NY Job Type: Contract 18-24 months Reports To: Director of Network Services or CIO W2 ONLY DO NOT CALL ME IF YOU WORK FOR AN OFFSHORE C2C AGENCY. NO REFERRAL FEES EITHER. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Architect with deep expertise in Aruba wireless technologies and Cisco networking solutions. This position plays a critical role in the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-wide network architectures to support business needs, enhance performance, and ensure high availability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on expert capable of leading complex network projects from concept to deployment. Key Responsibilities: Design and architect enterprise-grade network infrastructure leveraging Aruba wireless (ArubaOS, ClearPass, AirWave/Central) and Cisco routing, switching, and security platforms. Lead the development of network strategy, standards, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend network solutions that align with business and technical requirements. Oversee the deployment and management of Wi-Fi 6/6E, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, and data center networking technologies. Collaborate with security teams to implement network access control (NAC), segmentation, and secure remote access. Lead or participate in network assessments, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of complex network issues. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineers and support staff. Maintain documentation of network topology, architecture, and procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST) and internal policies. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to manage installations, upgrades, and support escalations. Stay current with emerging networking technologies, trends, and certifications. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Masters preferred). 7+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture. Proven experience with Aruba wireless solutions (including Aruba Central, ClearPass, and AirWave). Deep knowledge of Cisco technologies, including Catalyst/Nexus switches, ISR/ASR routers, ASA/FTD firewalls, and Cisco DNA Center. Hands-on experience with 802.1X, RADIUS, VLANs, QoS, and VPN technologies. Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SNMP, etc.). Proficient in network performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, NetFlow). Experience designing and implementing redundant/high-availability network architectures. Preferred Certifications: Aruba Certified Mobility Expert (ACMX) or Aruba Certified Design Expert (ACDX) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (a plus) Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and documentation abilities Leadership and team collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment May require occasional travel for site visits, implementation, or training Participation in on-call support rotation may be require Seniority level
