*Workday Financials Consultant – Subject Matter Expert (SME)*

We seek an experienced and proactive *Workday Financials Consultant* to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead the stabilization and enhancement of our Workday Financials platform. This pivotal role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, leading functional solution design, and executing assignments independently to ensure optimal system performance and ongoing improvements.
*Key Responsibilities* * Act as the SME for Workday Financials, supporting stabilization efforts and driving continuous enhancements across core finance modules. * Quickly onboard with the existing project team, then independently lead assigned workstreams from design through deployment. * Design, configure, and optimize Workday Financials modules including *FDM, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supplier & Customer Accounts, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Banking & Settlement, and Financial Reporting*. * Serve as the lead architect for Workday Financials implementations, providing solution design and best practices. * Collaborate effectively with finance leadership, technical teams, and project managers to ensure successful implementation, testing, training, and post-go-live support. * Facilitate testing phases, user training, and deployment activities to promote user adoption and ensure solution quality. * Support integrations with Workday (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors) and third-party systems, troubleshooting and optimizing as needed. * Stay current on Workday Community updates, release notes, and industry best practices to inform ongoing support and enhancements. * Provide ongoing support, identify opportunities for system improvements, and implement enhancements post-implementation. * Ensure robust security configurations and segregation of duties within Workday Financials.
*Required Skills & Qualifications* * Deep expertise in Workday Financials modules: *General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Procurement*. * Advanced understanding of *Workday Financial Data Model (FDM)* and its application to enterprise financial reporting and compliance. * Strong knowledge of financial operations and internal control frameworks such as *GAAP* and *SOX*. * Proven experience in configuring and managing *Workday security structures* within Financials modules. * Hands-on experience with *Workday integration tools*, including *EIB, Studio, and Core Connectors*. * Demonstrated success leading end-to-end implementations or significant system enhancements. * Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. * Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple deliverables independently in a fast-paced environment.
*Preferred Qualifications* * Background in *finance or accounting roles* before consulting or system administration. * Workday *Financials certification* or related module certifications. * Experience with *multi-entity or global financial systems implementations*. * Prior involvement in *post-go-live stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement projects*.
