Patient Care Technician Instructor Important:
Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ability to teach 20 hours (5 evenings) per week for up to 4 hours per evening in person, which includes but not limited to the following subject areas:
Personal hygiene; vital signs; activities of daily living; infection control Anatomy & Physiology EKG: Performing and Interpretation Phlebotomy: Venipuncture and other sampling procedures Patient Safety Preparing student for industry certification as Patient Care Technician, EKG Technician and/or Phlebotomy Technician Psycho/Social considerations of the patient Care Planning/Interdisciplinary Care Hospice Care MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent Current registration as a NJ Licensed Registered, a Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant, or Certified Nursing Assistant Three (3) years of experience working in an in-patient environment Experience in General Nursing Care, EKG, and Phlebotomy Previous experience teaching adult learners Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree Experience teaching in higher education
