HR Generalist . As the organization rapidly expands across multiple locations, this role will be pivotal in building foundational HR systems, supporting employees, and working closely with leadership to strengthen the culture and employee experience.

About the Role
The HR Generalist will be responsible for developing and improving the company's HR infrastructure, leading onboarding and benefits processes, and supporting compliance and employee relations across multiple locations. You'll partner closely with leadership and external HR advisors to implement efficient, compliant, and people-first practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Core HR Infrastructure
Develop and manage HR policies and procedures; maintain and update the employee handbook
Ensure accurate, compliant employee records including offer letters, signed handbooks, and performance documentation
Standardize hiring paperwork, onboarding workflows, and digital file storage systems Onboarding & Training
Lead and continuously improve onboarding programs for General Managers, sales, and instructional teams
Review and enhance training materials and processes for consistency and scalability
Work with leadership to clarify responsibilities between HR and management for onboarding tasks
Evaluate the feasibility of centralized onboarding (e.g., weekly sessions) across locations Benefits & Leave Administration
Act as the point of contact for employee benefits questions and manage benefit enrollment and updates
Partner with external HR consultants on leave requests and provide guidance on policies such as FMLA and parental leave Payroll & PTO Oversight
Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing
Maintain employee compensation records and manage changes, terminations, and payroll adjustments
Track PTO and assist in refining the company's time-off policy and approval workflows Employee Experience & Recognition
Introduce recognition programs for milestones such as anniversaries and birthdays using tools like Prospr
Contribute ideas and implement initiatives to support engagement, culture, and retention Employee Relations & Compliance
Serve as a day-to-day resource for HR-related questions and policy interpretation
Partner with leadership and HR consultants on sensitive matters including PIPs, employee exits, and conflict resolution
Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations Qualifications 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
Proven experience developing HR processes and documentation
Strong understanding of employment law, benefits, and HR compliance
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities across a distributed team
Professional communication style with the ability to build trust at all levels
Experience supporting multi-state or multi-location teams is preferred
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus Tools & Platforms Familiarity with HRIS or employee management systems
Experience with communication/scheduling platforms such as Prospr
Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
