You'll be in charge of creating a sales and marketing strategy that includes soliciting new and existing accounts in order to reach and exceed revenue targets through outside sales calls, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking. Responsibilities: • Conduct yourself as a professional representative of the hotel at various industry tradeshows, conferences, and adhere to the guidelines of the budget and marketing plan • Study and research local market trends and competitor activity to discover potential leads • Develop and maintain connections with important group and catering accounts in order to maintain and expand our market share • Plan and compile the department budget in accordance with the hotel's overall sales objectives and strategy, with the assistance of the director of sales and marketing • Generate new business, close deals, and increase revenue by cold calling, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking • Uncover major groups and catering clients within the local market to pass on to the sales office for contracting and servicing. Qualifications: • 3 or more years of experience in sales management or in a leadership role in the sales department, preferably in hospitality • Good organization and time management skills • This position requires previous work experience in a hospitality role • Exhibits superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities • Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in business or a similar field a plus • 2 or more years of experience in a metro Indianapolis/Carmel hotel sales position.
