POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Donor Development is a key leader within Freedom House Ministries, Inc., responsible for building and maintaining donor and grant funding relationships to support our mission. This dynamic role drives individual, corporate, foundation, and faith-based giving while cultivating meaningful donor relationships and managing comprehensive grant funding opportunities. The position coordinates strategic donor communications and plays a vital role in donor and volunteer engagement, events, and marketing initiatives that advance Freedom House's impact in the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Donor Development & Relationship Management

Recognize and steward donors through comprehensive acknowledgement processes including tax letters, personal phone calls, emails, visits, and thoughtful gifts Communicate program outcomes, success stories, and demonstrate proper stewardship of donor funds Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors while identifying new prospects Make direct funding requests for monetary donations, in-kind gifts, and volunteer services Manage a portfolio of donors through the complete donor cycle: cultivation, solicitation, reporting, and ongoing stewardship Plan and execute donor appreciation events to strengthen community connections Ensure accurate donor information and interaction notes are maintained in donor database Input and maintain accurate donor and donation information in donor database Generate reports and analyze giving patterns and donor trends to inform strategic decisions Process refunds and correct donor information errors with attention to detail and donor relations Grant Development & Management

Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities that align with Freedom House Ministries' mission and strategic priorities Collaborate with Finance Coordinator and Director of Development on financial documentation required for grant submissions Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, adapting materials to match specific funder interests and requirements Oversee the complete grant process to secure general operating funding and program-specific support Conduct thorough due diligence on potential funding opportunities and vet opportunities with Freedom House staff Monitor grant-funded programs and services to ensure compliance and measure outcomes Prepare comprehensive grant reports demonstrating accountability and proper use of funds Partner with Finance Coordinator to integrate grant opportunities into organizational budgeting processes Support Director of Development in research, writing, and reporting activities Event Leadership & Coordination

Represent Freedom House at events to share mission, vision, and fundraising opportunities Lead planning and execution of spring fundraising event, managing logistics, marketing, and revenue components Develop and implement Freedom House-led awareness and fundraising events Identify new event opportunities to expand brand recognition and fundraising capacity Assess return on investment for both Freedom House-led and third-party events Work alongside Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, coordinate, and lead volunteers for event support as needed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor development, or nonprofit development Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with donor management databases Experience with grant writing and fundraising strategy Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects Passion for the mission and values of Freedom House Ministries PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with social media and marketing coordination Prior event planning experience Familiarity with Brown County's philanthropic community BENEFITS
