ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This role oversees a broad range of HR functions including payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance reporting, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, and enforcement of company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting staff and ensuring the organization remains compliant and efficient in all HR-related matters.

Process and administer bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely through Paycom Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes Conduct all required pre-employment screenings and ensure documentation is properly filed Administer and support the performance management and employee appraisal programs Manage employee benefits including new hire enrollments, open enrollment, explanations of coverage, and benefits reconciliation Maintain and update HR systems and employee records to ensure accuracy and improve organizational efficiency Prepare and submit timely reports to regulatory agencies including EEOC, DOL, BLS, and more Enter new hire and termination data into Daxko and coordinate with Membership Directors as outlined in Practices and Standards Verify I-9 documentation and conduct E-Verify for new hires Monitor and follow up with directors regarding outstanding employee training requirements Coordinate employee recognition initiatives and publish the HR Newsletter Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate follow-up documentation Oversee records management including labeling, inventorying, and coordinating with external storage provider Iron Mountain Respond promptly to employee inquiries and provide high-quality customer service Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure HR practices remain compliant Perform additional HR-related duties and special projects as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR and payroll administration Working knowledge of HR and employment laws preferred High level of accuracy and attention to detail Professional demeanor with strong emotional intelligence Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (Paycom experience a plus) Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile when needed YMCA COMPETENCIES (MULTI-TEAM):
