Summary This positions key responsibilities include administering regular and bonus payrolls for salaried employees, facilitates adherence to the payroll budget, handling garnishments and deductions, and programming the companys HRIS system. The role also oversees 401(k) plan operations, compliance audits, and monthly insurance reconciliations. Payroll Responsibilities: Processes regular and bonus payrolls for salaried employees Ensures levies, garnishments, and others deductions are withheld Prepares files for dead inventory, generic earnings and additional payroll processing Programs companys HRIS system Facilitates Payroll Budget Process LA Tax incentive and other specific town/parish incentives Reconciles monthly insurance invoices Administers the day-to-day and annual operations of the 401 (k) plan Responsible for preparation of Form 5500 for the 401 (k) and cafeteria plans Understands Companys employee benefit plans Other Responsibilities: Review and approval of offer letters for recruiting department EEO-1 reporting Reports, maintains and monitors all workers compensation case files Responsible for annual workers' compensation audit Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position. Education and/or Work Experience - 3 to 4 years of payroll processing experience required Strong accounting aptitude required 1 to 2 years of employee benefit experience preferred High School or Equivalent Travel Frequently within the Baton Rouge area - 5% per year overnight travel Customer Focus Integrity Safety Professionalism Initiative Critical & Analytic Thinking Willingness to Learn Clarifying Roles & Objectives Planning and Organizing PLEASE NOTE: John H Carter Company is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms/employment agencies for this employment opportunity.
