HR Generalist - Florida; Temporary to Permanent Placement

***This role provides in-person HR support to a custodial facility in Southern Central Florida. You'll split your time, working three days a week in Miami and two days a week at our Southern Central Florida location, roughly an hour away. Reliable transportation and a willingness to regularly commute between these two sites are required.***
Position Description Summary:
This is a temporary position (up to 90 days) with the potential of becoming permanent.
Reporting to the HR Director,
the successful candidate will assist with onboarding new hires, employee relations, policies, and practices to help the organization grow. This role is located in a remote part of southern central Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: Serve as HR Business Partner to Project leadership. Providing human resources services, including records management, AA/EEO compliance, and completing personnel transactions. Maintain HR records and employee files in accordance with compliance regulations and policies. Work closely with payroll and other departments, exercising discretion while working with highly confidential information. Coordinate with HR leadership and Operations to troubleshoot and provide coaching and consultation in the areas of employee relations and performance management. Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action. Assist the workforce with Identifying employee concerns, clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions and implementing selected solutions. Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Assist with the onboarding of new employees. Conduct voluntary and involuntary exit meetings in conjunction with Project Leadership. Handling assignments and supporting the Project as needed. Maintaining a flexible schedule so that you are able to monitor day shift employees as well as night shift employees. Minimum Qualifications
Proven experience as HR Generalist Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures Good knowledge of employment/labor laws Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Costpoint) will be a plus Excellent communication and people skills Aptitude in problem-solving Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources or related field PHR/SPHR Certified preferred
Physical Demands:
The physical demands listed below, though not fully inclusive, are that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The employee is frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
