Our Maintenance and Operations Division is looking to add a

Stationary Engineer 2

to our team at the Special Commitment Center (SCC) on McNeil Island! The hours for this position are Wednesday - Saturday 6:00am - 4:00pm.

As a Stationary Engineer 2, you'll perform skilled engineering and repair work related to boiler and HVAC operations. You will be responsible for overall safe and efficient operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam plant, consisting of two high-pressure boilers to supply steam to the SCC facility and one boiler at the Fire Station/Warehouse.

This role is essential for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for our residents and staff.

Note: SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees . Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Who Should Apply

Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary (or marine) high-pressure boilers and heating systems.

Or

Certificate of completion of an advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college. And, two years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary (or marine) high-pressure boilers and heating systems. Or

One year of State service as a Stationary Engineer 1 .

And

Valid driver's license free from serious traffic violations.

Some of what you will do:

Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC and boiler systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Monitor system performance. Troubleshoot issues promptly.

Help keep the facility warm in winter and cool in summer, so everyone feels good and safe. Use less energy to save money and help the environment. Make sure the heating and cooling systems work well, so staff can focus on helping the individuals without worrying about problems.
