Our Maintenance and Operations Division is looking to add a
Stationary Engineer 2
to our team at the
Special Commitment Center
(SCC) on McNeil Island!
The hours for this position are Wednesday - Saturday, 6:00am - 4:00pm. As a Stationary Engineer 2, you'll perform skilled engineering and repair work related to boiler and HVAC operations. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a high-pressure steam plant, which includes two high-pressure boilers supplying steam to the SCC facility and one boiler at the Fire Station/Warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for our residents and staff. Note: SCC employees receive an additional $10 per day premium pay, a free ORCA card for transportation, and ferry transportation to McNeil Island. Opportunities involving on-site work at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay. Three years of experience in operation, maintenance, or repair of stationary (or marine) high-pressure boilers and heating systems. Or, completion of an advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college, plus two years of relevant experience. Or, one year of State service as a
Stationary Engineer 1 . Additional requirements include a valid driver's license free from serious traffic violations. Key responsibilities include:
Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC and boiler systems. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Monitoring system performance. Promptly troubleshooting issues. Value you bring:
