Proper Food

Company Background At Proper Food, we make it a cinch to eat well on the run. We craft our fare by hand fresh every morning the only way we know how – with whole, seasonal ingredients sliced, chopped and seasoned with care. Nothing phony or factory-made. Just good, proper food that’s packed and ready to go. We cook all our meals from scratch each morning in our commissary kitchen and deliver them to our stores each day. At the end of each day, unsold meals are donated to local food banks.

Proper Food launched in San Francisco in 2014 and has rapidly grown to fifteen stores in the SF Bay Area, one at SFO Airport and four in New York City, earning accolades from customers, food critics and local media. Proper Food SFO’s location in Terminal One has been a favorite of travelers and employees since its opening!

The Role As Assistant Manager, you will oversee the daily function of our Proper Food SFO location in Terminal One, with support from your General Manager. The team consists of 15-25 members. You will be responsible for cultivating the store culture, and your management style will influence daily operations. We seek someone who is communicative, dependable, friendly, enthusiastic, and hardworking to manage our SFO location.

This location is open daily, 365 days a year, and our Assistant Manager must have open availability to support the GM and team as needed. Food is prepared at our off-site Commissary and delivered daily. In-store prep is limited to heating meals and bagging items.

If you are a strong leader passionate about people and excited to change how people eat on the go, this could be your role. We have growth plans and career opportunities for an ambitious Assistant Manager to grow with Proper!
