Position Summary:
Walther Arms, Inc. is a leading firearms manufacturer experiencing rapid growth in the U.S. market. We pride ourselves on precision engineering, manufacturing excellence, and a commitment to quality and innovation. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager to lead our shop floor and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of production.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, managing production teams, and implementing process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery and efficiency. This role is critical to the successful scaling of our U.S. operations and will play a key part in shaping the future of our manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility with a strong presence on the shop floor.
Manage, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline team members to ensure high performance and alignment with company goals.
Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement using Lean or other proven methodologies.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and product development teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of high-quality products.
Monitor KPIs including productivity, scrap rates, OEE, on-time delivery, and labor efficiency.
Lead daily production meetings and communicate goals, challenges, and progress clearly across teams.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to support consistent production and compliance with industry regulations.
Ensure strict adherence to ATF, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
Participate in strategic planning for capacity expansion, capital investment, and workforce development.
Champion employee engagement and foster a positive work environment built on trust, respect, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in firearms, defense, or a highly regulated industry.
3+ years in a leadership or managerial role with direct responsibility for shop floor operations.
Demonstrated success in implementing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement tools.
Strong understanding of machining, assembly, and shop floor processes, including CNC operations and quality inspection methods.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing analytics.
Must be eligible to work with firearms and pass all background checks required by federal and state law.
