American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) stepdown position requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and active, in-hand RN licensure.Job Details•Work in a 28-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a stepdown, acute care environment,•Patient population includes adults, with medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke cases, frequently admitted from the ER,•Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4,•RNs are responsible for titrating drips, including heparin, octreotide, insulin, and administering maintenance IV medication dosages,•Tele monitoring required, and RNs must be able to read and interpret tele strips,•Support staff includes a charge nurse, nurse aids (ratio 1:14), unit secretary (2-3 days/week), and stocking clerk (3 days/week),•Specialty equipment includes code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lift, and sit-to-stand devices,•EMR system is Epic, prior Epic experience preferred,•Day and night 12-hour shifts available, with scheduling managed by unit schedulers,•Every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements with permanent staff,•Floating required to Med/Surg and all hospital areas based on skills, including ICU and ED if appropriate,Job Requirements•Active, unrestricted state or compact (NLC) RN license in hand (pending not accepted),•Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required,•Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (all must be current and in hand),•Experience titrating drips and interpreting telemetry strips required,•Must submit a copy of driver's license to verify residency beyond 50-mile radius,•Candidates must not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year,•References required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years,Additional Information•RNs must pass a unit-specific, open-book exam on skills learned in orientation with a minimum score of 90%,•First week includes classroom orientation followed by two 12-hour unit shifts,•High flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges that requires adaptability and strong teamwork skills,•Dress code is navy blue scrubs,•RTO must be requested up front, limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contract, with no approval for additional RTO,•All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility,•Holiday and weekend rotation required along with floating as assigned,),•hash,:•4489953746461973889,
