American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit stepdown position requiring night shifts, EPIC experience, and strong critical care skills.Job Details•Work in a 33-bed acute care hospital Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown),•Care for patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics with complex conditions such as sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and multisystem failure,•Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4-5,•Requires titration of drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin,•RNs must independently read and interpret telemetry strips,•Uses EPIC charting system,•Night shift position, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required,•Floating required to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care units,•Holiday coverage as needed to meet unit needs,Job Requirements•Active state or compact RN license at time of application; pending licenses will not be accepted,•Minimum 2 years of recent hospital stepdown or PCU RN experience required,•Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,•Experience with telemetry and titratable drips required,•Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred,•Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; address verified via driver's license,•Cannot have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past 12 months,•Driver's license required for verification,•Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%,•Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years,Additional Information•RNs are responsible for both admitting and discharging patients during the same shift in a high-volume, fast-paced environment,•Charge nurse present each shift and may take a patient assignment,•Support from CNAs available; ratio may vary by census,•BiPAP and Airvo used as part of respiratory therapy equipment,•First week includes classroom orientation and two 12-hour floor shifts for unit-specific orientation,•A strong sense of teamwork, a positive attitude, and commitment to patient experience are essential for success,•Must wear navy blue scrubs,•Seven or fewer days of requested time off permitted for each 13-week contract; additional time off not approved,),•hash,:•14318317340686739834,
