American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU night shift position requiring telemetry skills and 2 years of acute care experience.Job Details•Work in a 40-bed Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit within an acute care hospital setting,•Patients include adults with cardiac, med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer placement, and renal failure diagnoses,•Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 for both days and nights,•12-hour night shifts with every weekend required,•Floating required to MedSurg or ICU with PCU-level patients,•Use of Epic EMR; experience preferred,•RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips,•High flow oxygen therapy used on unit,•Unit utilizes heparin, nitro, dopamine, cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips, which require titration,Job Requirements•Active RN license, either state-specific or Compact (NLC); pending licenses not accepted,•Minimum 2 years of acute care PCU or stepdown experience,•Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all active upon consideration),•Must pass a skills-based open book exam with at least 90% during orientation,•Driver's license required to confirm residency outside a 50-mile radius,•Cannot be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility,•Two professional references: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years,Additional Information•1 week of department-specific orientation provided,•Rotating holiday coverage required with permanent staff,•Overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners are available on the unit,•RNs must demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and strong communication skills, serving a primarily Hispanic and Somalian patient population,•Navy blue scrubs required,•Only up to 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract and must be communicated upfront,•Recent previous direct employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the last year will disqualify candidates,),•hash,:•10291216748811592378,
