Own the Numbers That Drive the Factory Floor. We’re conducting a confidential search for a Director of Finance – Plant Cost Accounting, a pivotal role focused on financial performance at the plant level. This isn’t a back-office finance position — it’s embedded in operations, where cost accounting, margin analysis, and production economics drive strategic decisions and profitability.
What You’ll Do · Lead all aspects of cost accounting across multiple high-volume manufacturing plants · Develop and maintain standard cost models for materials, labor, and overhead · Analyze plant-level financials, including yield, scrap, variances, and product margins · Own deep dives into COGS, SKU-level profitability, inventory valuation, and production efficiency · Collaborate with plant managers and corporate teams on budgeting, forecasting, and performance targets · Support capital expenditure planning and operational improvements with rigorous financial analysis · Drive consistency and best practices in cost accounting processes across sites
What You Bring · Demonstrated success leading plant cost accounting in a multi-site manufacturing environment · Expertise in COGS modeling, margin analysis, variance reporting, and inventory controls · Strong understanding of operational metrics — throughput, utilization, waste, yield, and sourcing · Ability to toggle between granular plant-level insights and high-level financial strategy · A hands-on, collaborative approach — you'll be in the plants, not just analyzing from afar
