Human Resource Generalist
General Overview:
The HR Generalist will administer the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This includes but is not limited to processing payroll and administering VVF's healthcare plans, life insurance, FSA, 401(k) plans; conducting organizational recruitment initiatives; leave management; administering employee/labor relation functions, and performing other human resource duties and responsibilities.
Basic Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience • 3 years of experience administering Benefits, Payroll, and HRIS-related systems • Experience working with ADP and Kronos, and/or equivalent payroll systems. • Intermediate knowledge, pertinent to federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Title VII, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, and Social Security and DOL requirements. • Experience administering 401(k) plans. • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), HRIS systems, and applicant tracking systems. • Able to work in a manufacturing environment • Shift flexibility to accommodate the hours of the plant's operation.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience administering Human Resource functions in a Union environment. • PHR certified
Other Required Skills: • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Flexibility; adaptable to changes in work assignments/priorities • Vital planning and organizing skills • Strong analytical and quantitative skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements: • Must be able to walk distances, climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and wear required PPE in designated areas • Must be able to sit for periods of time working in front of a computer screen
Key Responsibilities: • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate data transfer to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees. • Reconcile, and oversee the processing of monthly billings and make corrections and adjustments as necessary. • Perform plan audits. Prepare, collect, and organize data for actuarial assessments. • Administer group benefit programs, processes payroll, and perform other HRIS functions • Administers leave of absence in accordance with the Company's FMLA and leave policies. • Administer the Unemployment and Worker's Compensation claims process for the facility • Compile and analyze relevant data information for government-related reports. • Conduct training as needed; provide organizational support as needed • Ensure compliance with existing federal and state employment laws and regulations. • Performs other HR duties and responsibilities as assigned
