Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing a full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemicals. This includes providing quality patient care, ensuring timely throughput of patients, and performing their exams. The role involves operating and performing quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment such as gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment. The technician will perform PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners, including injection of contrast media, image acquisition, and reformatting. Additionally, the incumbent will perform scans and procedures to support scanner qualification for research trials, creating and programming study-specific protocols under supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and ALARA principles
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Availability for on-call and call-back services
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a CNMT
  • Current BLS certification
  • Active State of California CNMT license
  • Active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of full-time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures
  • Knowledge of university and medical center policies, procedures, and organizational structure
