Physician - Part Time (20 hours/Week) Vascular Surgeon (Stockton)

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan repayment initiative. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined after review of the application by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services. Former participants in EDRP are ineligible to reapply.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional criteria listed in the job announcement. Candidates pending completion of training or licensing may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are satisfied. Current VA-employed physicians who initially met the qualification standards are deemed qualified.

Basic Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens only when qualified citizens are unavailable)
• Doctor of medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
• Current unrestricted medical or surgical license in the U.S.
• Completed residency training approved by the VA or equivalent
• Enrolled residents in accredited programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and work under supervision
• Proficiency in English
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon
• Physical requirements include visual acuity, hearing, speech, manual dexterity, and ability to perform CPR
