Director of Brand Capabilities

About the role:

A dynamic and visionary individual is sought to join our organization to lead the Brand Capabilities Team. Brand Capabilities is part of the Commercial Learning & Development (CL&D) Team and is within the Commercial Operations and Business Solutions (COBS) function of the U.S. Business Unit.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Brand Capabilities will drive transformative initiatives, foster continuous improvement, and promote a culture of agility and growth. Strong communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills are essential. A leadership style that inspires and influences across the organization is required, along with a passion for innovation and deep marketing expertise.

The role involves working closely with brand and launch leadership, cross-functional partners, and serving as a strategic partner to unlock the potential of brands and support patient outcomes.

How You Will Contribute

  • Lead and inspire the Brand Capabilities Team.
  • Partner with brand and launch teams on marketing capabilities such as Product Positioning, Insights, Brand Planning, Customer Engagement, and Measurement.
  • Develop assessment tools, identify capability needs, and facilitate best practice sharing.
  • Work on brand capabilities development for launches and create a long-term capabilities roadmap.
  • Integrate digital, data, and technology into solutions.
  • Manage resources, budgets, and measure the impact of initiatives.
  • Embed an agile and innovative mindset within the team and broader organization.
  • Participate in leadership teams shaping the Commercial Learning & Development function and broader COBS initiatives.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree; MS/MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in marketing and brand roles, with 8+ years in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Proven ability to influence senior management and lead organizational change.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing teams and budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across brand lifecycle stages.
  • Experience with brand planning and portfolio management.
  • Organizational change management experience.

Additional Information

Location: Lexington, MA or Cambridge, MA. Salary range: $174,500 - $274,230. This position is classified as 'hybrid' per Takeda's policy. Takeda is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
