Financial Operations and Expense Accountant (Onsite, Southern Florida)
A successful hedge fund located north of West Palm Beach, Florida, is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Financial Operations & Expense Accountant to play a key role in managing and optimizing financial processes across the organization. This cross-functional position interfaces with Corporate Accounting, HR, Procurement, and Administration to ensure accuracy, policy compliance, and operational efficiency in areas such as expense auditing, procurement, self-funded benefits accounting, and budgeting.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper approvals, documentation, and GL coding for all expense transactions
  • Record and reconcile expense and credit card transactions in the accounting system
  • Contribute to month-end close by preparing account reconciliations and reporting on expense-related activity
  • Monitor expenditures, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and generate actionable reports for leadership
  • Reconcile financial transactions related to the companys self-funded benefits programs, including claims, contributions, and reserves
  • Prepare financial statements and forecasting reports related to benefits costs
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial workflows in expense reporting, procurement, and benefits accounting
  • Maintain and enhance financial process documentation and internal controls
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: expense auditing, procurement, benefits accounting, or financial analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Concur, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar)
  • Experience with SQL and Excel automation for data analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of GAAP and audit procedures
  • Must be willing to work fully onsite
