POSITIONSUMMARY:
The individual in thisposition will be responsible for the recruitment and management of studentsapplying to the Second Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Doctorof Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia programs within the School of Nursing. This individual will manage a robustcommunication plan with prospective students and with internal and externalconstituencies of the University and the School of Nursing. This individual will report directly to theSchool of Nursing Director of Admissions.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets with prospective students and their families throughoutthe recruitment and enrollment process to discuss the School of Nursing,Nursing as a profession, and Duquesne University.
Develops a keen understanding of the requirements foradmission to both the University and the School of Nursing.
Communicates effectively with prospective students regardingthe application process and status throughout the admissions cycle. Thisrequires extensive messaging such as phone calls, emails, writtencorrespondence, and social media channels. Provides timely and accurate programand admissions information, educational and career counseling, and academicadvising regarding the program of study and prerequisite coursework.
Evaluates applicants' credentials for admission to the SecondDegree BSN program and the Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia, andis adept at interpreting the unique characteristics of each applicant.
Creates a welcoming environment and ensures a positiveexperience for prospective and new students and their families.
Delivers presentations to audiences of various sizes aboutnursing as a profession, and provides information about the School of Nursingand Duquesne University at Open Houses, Admitted Student Days, InformationSessions, and School Fairs. Travel toconferences and events throughout the year is expected.
Makes admission decisions and consults with the Director ofAdmissions as necessary.
Collaborates with fellow School of Nursing Office ofRecruitment and Enrollment Management personnel regarding marketing, events,website, and social media.
Collaborates with multiple University and School of Nursingdepartments. Actively engages with the Enrollment Management Group and is responsiblefor translating university-level recruitment strategy.
Proposes recommendations to the School of Nursing's marketingand web/social media team regarding communications and recruitment assets.
Completes otherduties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications:
3-5 years of experiencein university admissions, healthcare, marketing, communications, counseling ora similar field
Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accreditedinstitution (Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred)
A valid driver's license in good standing
Knowledge about the profession of nursing and nursingeducation is highly desired
Preferred qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution ispreferred.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Available to travel and work some weekends and evenings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management organizational skills.
Highly proficient in the use of CRMs, computer programs suchas Microsoft Office, electronic filing systems, and shared drives.
Working knowledge of university resources such as financialaid, disability services, and enrollment management.
Exceptional intuitive and interpersonal skills, and theability to relate to students, faculty and other professionals.
Able to analyze relative information and make appropriateindependent decisions. Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
