ICU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Lexington, North Carolina 27292
- Healthcare Setting: 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within a 96-bed hospital
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025 - End: 12/6/2025)
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts (1845 start time)
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570-$1680
- Patient Ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients, 3:1 for Intermediate Care (IMC) patients
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Free Parking: Available
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong clinical skills in critical care, including art line management, vasoactive medication titration, ventilator management/weaning, and chest tube management
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to mentor and support new graduate nurses
- First-time travel nurses with strong ICU experience are encouraged to apply
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients (including ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, stroke, and other MICU-type cases)
- Monitor and manage patients using advanced ICU technology (Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, GE monitors, Bair Hugger, Bladder Scanner, Blanketrol machine)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: CNAs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists, and resource nurses
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR
- Participate in nursing orientation and ongoing professional development
- Support a positive unit culture by mentoring less experienced staff and fostering teamwork
