INTRADISTRICT DELIVERY DRIVER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The food/mail truck driver is responsible for the pickup and delivery of mail, packages, prepared food, and other items as needed throughout the day. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong planning skills who can effectively manage a flexible schedule and adapt to the evolving needs of the district on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education/Certification
  • A Chauffeur's license, or the ability to obtain one
Preferred Education/Certification
  • A DOT Medical Card Preferred
Required Experience
  • 5 Years driving experience
  • Clean Driving Record (no points or DUI)
Preferred Experience
  • Previous paid driving experience preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Inspects vehicle daily and reports maintenance concerns
  • Fuels vehicle
  • Prioritizes workload daily
  • Complete deliveries in a timely and efficient manner
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
  • Complete daily food temperature logs.
  • Organize and coordinate work.
  • Develop and implement projects.
  • Effective and respectful verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
  • Engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  • Demonstrate exemplary attendance and punctuality.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS, WORK HAZARDS
Must be able to push/pull/move up to 90 pounds as is required for loading and unloading items using a hand truck and lift gate.
Must be able to get in and out of the truck dozens of times daily.
The delivery truck runs in all weather, such as heat, humidity, rain, storms, and snow.
Work in standard office and school building environments requiring mobility, visual and auditory acuity, communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, adaptability, technology proficiency, physical stamina and environmental awareness.

WORK SCHEDULE
9:00 AM until 2:00 PM on School Days with a 30-minute, unpaid, lunch break.
Schedule A: Mon, Wed, Fri
Schedule B: Tue, Thur
FLSA STATUS
Non-Exempt
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • A 10-month employee following the school year calendar
  • A benefit package as defined by the Saline Area Schools Educational Support Staff (ESP)
  • As a district driver, the mail truck driver will be entered into a random drug pool

PAY RATE
$17.50 per Hour
