Effective and respectful verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Experience Childcare experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Coordinate the planning and implementation of a variety of daily activities to help children develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Comply with local, state and federal laws as well as district policy and regulations related to programs. Keep the facilities clean and organized. Answer the phone. Interact with parents as they pick-up and drop-off children daily. Participate in the program and department problem-solving and/or decision-making process. Serve as a "goodwill" ambassador to the public for the program, the Community Education Department and the Saline Area Schools. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Remain abreast of current trends, knowledge and attitudes affecting child care and Before and After School Care programs. Engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth. Pool days which involve swimming with students (not serving as a lifeguard) are expected. Perform other tasks and duties related to the program as assigned or appropriate. Demonstrate exemplary attendance and punctuality. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS, WORK HAZARDSWork in standard office and school building environments requiring mobility, visual and auditory acuity, communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, adaptability, technology proficiency, physical stamina and environmental awareness.TRAVEL Occasional attendance of off-site professional development events. WORK SCHEDULE Flexible: school days 6:30-8:45 and 3:00-6:00.
