Full-Time Overview: A well-established food manufacturing facility is seeking a Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Supervisor to oversee quality assurance, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance functions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards, while also promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the facility. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management Supervise, coach, and develop quality technicians across all shifts. Manage scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance evaluations. Promote a positive work environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement. Food Safety & Quality Assurance Maintain and enforce food safety and quality systems (GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP, FSMA, SQF, EMP). Prepare for and lead internal and external audits (FDA, USDA, state, customer). Oversee CAPA processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Conduct mock recalls, traceability tests, and facility inspections. Compliance & Documentation Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local food safety regulations. Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready records. Monitor and verify quality records including lab results, sanitation logs, and temperature logs. Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with operations, sanitation, and other departments to resolve issues and drive improvements. Support broader food safety initiatives and share best practices across teams and sites. Qualifications: Education & Experience Associate or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). 5+ years of experience in food safety/quality in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience managing audits and regulatory inspections. Leadership experience or demonstrated readiness for a formal supervisory role. Skills & Competencies Proficient in HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to coach, lead, and hold team members accountable. Preferred (Not Required): HACCP, PCQI, or SQF Practitioner certifications Experience in dairy or cheese production Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments. Frequent standing, walking, and observation of equipment. Occasional lifting, bending, and reaching.
