Visitor Services Associate
This part-time position requires a commitment to customer service, a positive attitude, team spirit, and good organizational and multi-tasking skills. Congeniality and a can-do attitude are imperative. Additionally, this position must learn to use Shopify POS software, Past Perfect Database software, Microsoft Office, and other technology used by the Museum. Visitor Services Associates should become familiar with Museum members and patrons and promote membership to visitors. The Visitor Services Associate position is primarily a customer service and front desk support position. Duties include but are not limited to: Performing opening and/or closing procedures Greeting visitors and providing information Monitoring security cameras and alerting staff when needed Taking cash and credit card payments from visitors to the museum Taking cash and credit card payments from the Museum Store Answering and disseminating phone calls and messages Receiving mail and other shipments and assuring the correct party receives them Assuring repair people sign the register and proper personnel are notified Maintaining awareness of emergency procedures Assisting with membership solicitation processes Assisting with Museum store tasks Assisting with facility rentals as needed Assisting with fundraisers and other programming that requires a team effort Maintaining visitor attendance records Maintaining awareness of the museums program calendar and disseminating to community calendars as needed Alerting management of important visitors The Museum employs two (2) Visitor Services Associates who work shifts to cover the open hours of the museum as well as front desk coverage for certain programming and special events. These positions work approximately 20 hours per week and work together to assure coverage under supervision of the Director of Operations and Outreach. The position starts at $15 per hour. All museum employees work together to achieve the mission of the Museum to foster a healthy and culturally rich community by embracing change and using the power of art to educate, inspire, and heal. And its vision to be a dynamic institution that makes a positive impact on future generations in Central Louisiana.
