Director Of Sourcing & Procurement
The Director of Sourcing & Procurement is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and management of all sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities for GBC Food Services. This role ensures an uninterrupted supply of high-quality goods and services to support prepared foods kiosks located primarily in grocery stores and other host locations across the U.S. The Director will partner closely with franchisees, clients, and cross-functional teams to optimize sourcing strategies, drive cost savings, ensure compliance, and build supplier partnerships that enable operational excellence and growth. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with GBC Food Services' business goals and growth plans, ensuring the strategic purchasing of goods and servicesincluding high-quality, perishable, and specialty products such as seafoodto support operations. Lead all aspects of vendor and supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, franchisees, clients, and internal stakeholdersincluding Finance and QA teamsto ensure service, compliance, and quality standards are met or exceeded. Drive cost savings initiatives by analyzing market trends, supplier risks, and pricing; recommend and implement opportunities for efficiency and spend reduction. Also, while ensuring quality standards are upheld. Ensure vendor compliance with all contractual, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Continuously monitor and improve procurement processes, including purchase order (PO) cycle times and overall procurement efficiency. Evaluate and implement new technology solutions (e.g., ERP enhancements) to improve sourcing efficiency and data visibility. Manage relationships and performance of third-party logistics (3PL) providers and warehouse companies, ensuring service level agreements are met, costs are controlled, and operations support the just-in-time (JIT) flow of goods to all franchise and host locations. Manage internal and external supply chain programs, including distribution and logistics support for franchise and host locations. Collaborate with Operations, Inventory Control, Franchise Support, and other departments to forecast purchasing needs, resolve supply chain challenges, and support new product launches or vendor onboarding. Develop, implement, and monitor procurement policies, procedures, and controls in compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Prepare and present reports, spend analyses, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Analyze procurement data to drive strategic decision-making. Lead, coach, and develop a team of sourcing and procurement professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and partnership. Participate in cross-functional projects, mergers/acquisitions, and expansion initiatives as required. Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct management of the Sourcing & Procurement team. Oversight of third-party procurement service providers as needed. Competencies
Advanced negotiation and contract management skills. Strategic problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Leadership, people management, and coaching abilities. Strong financial acumen and budget management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and procurement analytics tools. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. Required Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing and procurement best practices. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint) and procurement management software. Deep knowledge of supply chain, vendor management, and compliance standards. Experience developing and implementing procurement policies and process improvements. Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management; food service or franchising industry preferred. At least 3 years of experience in a senior procurement or sourcing leadership role. Experience supporting geographically dispersed operations (multi-state preferred). Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to travel to supplier sites, franchise locations, or host sites, which may require extended standing, walking, or lifting (up to 40 pounds). Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional travel to host locations, supplier sites, and franchise locations. Fast-paced, dynamic setting requiring multitasking and cross-departmental collaboration. Other Duties
