Door Attendant
The Door Attendant is responsible for creating a strong sense of arrival for hotel, restaurant and banquet guests. This position arranges for cars to be parked or retrieved. The Door Attendant arranges transportation for guests and assures that guests' departure is swift and complete. What You Will Do: Greet guests who arrive by private car, taxi, or limo by opening their car door and welcoming them to the hotel. Assists guests descending from cars. Issues appropriate valet parking ticket to guests who want car parked. Gives verbal greeting to guests arriving on foot. Opens hotel doors for all guests. Unload guest luggage from car, tags it and follows luggage handling policy and procedure. Escorts hotel guests to the front desk for check-in, introduces to front desk agent. Transfers luggage to the bell staff. Assure the smooth flow of traffic on the drive by directing guest cars and taxis to the appropriate positions and directing valet parkers to park cars. Provide guests with directions, recommendations, and information about the city and its attractions. Calls taxis as needed. Loads luggage in car for departing guests. Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible; resolves customer complaints, assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, etc. Greet all guests passing through front door and offers them assistance; assisting in meeting all Four Seasons standards of the front office arrival and departure experience. Ensure exterior and immediate interior of resort entrance is kept clean and organized. Assist with group arrivals, including but not limited to unloading and organizing luggage from buses. Ensure familiarity with daily event schedules, outlet hours of operation, and resort activities and offers directions and information when necessary. Assist valet staff during high volume periods by answering calls and pulling tickets. Oversee curbside arrivals. Coordinate the operation of the house car. Provides alternatives to house car during peak times. Comply with Four Seasons' Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. Provide a high level of cleanliness on the driveway and hotel entrance. Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of bell staff and valet parking staff. Assist guests with use of complimentary house car, manages guests' schedules and expectations of wait times, if any.
