These positions perform a variety of non-academic and/or academic work responsibilities in a temporary or casual work schedule. Appointments are based on need, funding, and performance. This is a standing posting to remain open throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies but establishes a pool of applicants should an opening occur. Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year and will be contacted if they are being considered for an open position. Temporary: Limited to 67 or fewer days of work in a calendar year. Casual: Limited to working 14 or fewer hours per week; are not limited to 67 days of work in a calendar year. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with CSE/TLI faculty and/or research staff to facilitate ongoing projects Gather and analyze data to help facilitate project deliverables Coordinate with project stakeholders Qualifications Required Educational, certification, and work experience requirements are based on, and cannot exceed, the qualifications for work performed in comparable UMN job classifications. About the Department The Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is an interdisciplinary center at the University of Minnesota established in 1987 by an endowment from the Honeywell Foundation. The Institute is part of the College of Science and Engineering, which is ranked among the top engineering and science schools in the country. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $15.25 - $130/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience. Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications. Learn more about retirement plans.
