American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position requiring cardiac care skills and the ability to float between units.Job Details•Work in a hospital Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac patient monitoring,•Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, three shifts per week,•Care for patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization,•Patient ratios are 1:5-6,•Must be able to float to other units or affiliate hospitals as required,•Required to work 5-6 weekend shifts, equating to every other weekend,•Specialized procedures include sheath removal, TR bands, Femstop, and management of cardiac drips such as Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine,•Uses Pyxis for medication and Epic for documentation,•Self-scheduling in accordance with unit needs,•13 to 26 week contracts available,Job Requirements•Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand at start,•Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry or stepdown experience required,•Current ACLS certification required,•Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required,•Must demonstrate ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote cardiac monitoring,•Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care, sheath removal, port access, blood product administration, central/PICC line management experience required,•Experience titrating cardiac drips (Diltiazem, Amiodarone) required,•Charting experience in Epic required,•Must pass EKG testing prior to start,•NIHSS certification and charge experience preferred,•First-time travelers are welcome to apply,Additional Information•Responsible for monitoring and caring for cardiac patients and performing associated specialized procedures,•Expected to participate as part of Storm Team or Hurricane Team in case of disaster or mass casualty event,•Unit orientation is 24 hours,•Navy scrubs required,•Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment,•Maximum of 7 days RTO will be automatically approved if not during holidays; no RTO allowed first week,•Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles receive a local rate,•Previous Novant Health or New Hanover Regional Medical Center staff must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler,•Current travel Per Diem clinicians at Novant Health or New Hanover are ineligible for travel assignments,•24-hour unit orientation provided prior to shift start,),•hash,:•14338377838546093033,
