American Traveler seeks a skilled RN for a Stepdown Telemetry position requiring proficiency in cardiac rhythm identification and experience with cardiac and stroke care.Job Details•Work in a stepdown/intermediate care unit within a hospital setting,•Care for cardiac, stroke, and renal patients with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio,•Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30,•Every other weekend is required,•Floating may occur to similar or lower acuity units, or to affiliate hospitals depending on census,•Utilizes Cerner EMR; previous experience required,•Handles a range of cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix,•Beds are equipped for hemodialysis (performed by an outside provider),•All modes of oxygenation are used except for ventilators,Job Requirements•Active RN license (IN or compact); pending license accepted if active prior to start,•Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale,•Minimum 1 year of stepdown, telemetry, or cardiac nursing experience required; 2 years preferred,•Must have experience in telemetry, and cardiac and stroke patient care,•Cardiac drip experience required,•Must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz,•Proficiency with Cerner charting is required,•Applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted,Additional Information•Responsible for identifying and responding appropriately to cardiac rhythms on a true cardiac stepdown floor,•Will be exposed to a variety of drips and hemodialysis patients,•Scrub colors are royal blue or white,•No call requirements are expected,•Up to 8 hours of pre-start modules must be completed within 1 week of signing, with an average of 3-8 hours spent,•Return staff must be gone for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler,•First-time travelers are accepted,•Maximum of 10 days of requested time off allowed; if time off includes holidays, candidate must work one of the three holidays,),•hash,:•7109133312916104934,
