We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices with accuracy, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Verify and reconcile purchase orders against invoices to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage and maintain positive relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure timely payments and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline the accounts payable process and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain organized records of all accounts payable activities for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable.
  • Support the finance team with additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of processing purchase orders and vendor invoices.
  • Familiarity with preparing journal entries and month-end closing procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively manage vendor relationships and resolve issues.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices.
