Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for non-standard billing, project managing, and collecting from customers. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the company's cash flow and minimizing bad debt. It involves direct communication with internal and external customers to complete portal billing, resolve billing or project discrepancies, and ensure timely receipt of payments.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.
What You Will Be Doing
- Reconcile key information to complete or initiate the billing process of invoices in customer-owned, third-party project, and payment portals outside of the standard billing process.
- Maintain deadlines or due dates on projects for timely billing of invoices.
- Enter and upload waiver and payment application information in customer-owned or third-party project and/or payment portals.
- Review and interpret customer or company contracts.
- Perform collection duties including research, resolving balances, discrepancies, unapplied payments, and ensuring proper payment application.
- Create disputes in the company database.
What We Are Looking For

- Facilitate communication with customers and stakeholders to confirm discrepancy details related to projects, contracts, or payments.
- Review incomplete or completed tasks in customer or third-party portals to confirm successful billing, scheduled payments, or discrepancies.
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable or similar financial roles.
