The Benefits Specialist plays a key role in supporting the administration and communication of the university's benefits programs, reporting directly to the Director of Benefits and HR Operations. This role provides comprehensive assistance for health and voluntary plans, retirement programs, onboarding/offboarding, wellness initiatives, and professional development. The specialist serves as a primary point of contact for employees at all levels, offering guidance and support through various communication channels. They interpret and apply plan documents and legal regulations to resolve complex benefits issues independently, ensuring employees understand and utilize their benefits effectively. Additionally, the specialist leads the management of the Part-Time Instructors' new hires benefits business process, ensuring timely and accurate onboarding, enrollment, and support for this employee group. Responsibilities include conducting benefit orientations, managing benefits processes for part-time instructors, supporting annual and special open enrollment periods, and maintaining accurate benefits data in the HRIS (Workday) system. The specialist collaborates with vendors, payroll, and internal HR representatives to process changes and resolve discrepancies. They also take an active role in benefits education by developing materials, delivering presentations, and supporting wellness events. Furthermore, the role involves reviewing regulatory changes, ensuring compliance, identifying process improvements, and contributing to documentation and training efforts that enhance the overall employee experience. Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1 years' of comparable experience OR Associate degree and 3 years' comparable experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' comparable experience.
