Senior Manager Stroke Program

Our specialties include cardiology, cancer, emergency care, surgical services, obstetrics, Level II NICU, neurosurgery, stroke care, rehabilitation, weight-loss surgery, imaging, laboratory, home health, wound care, diabetes, hospice, physician practices, and women's services. We also offer the area's only inpatient rehabilitation facility with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation for stroke care. The role you'll contribute: The Senior Manager Stroke Program, in collaboration with stroke medical directors and campus clinical leadership, are responsible for the coordination of clinical excellence in stroke care across the continuum. At multiple assigned campuses or a comprehensive stroke center across the Central Florida Division, the senior manager functions is a key decision maker for the interdisciplinary team, which is responsible for monitoring and improving stroke program performance. Facilitates the development and implementation of stroke-related educational initiatives for staff, patients, community members, and emergency medical services. Leads campus interdisciplinary teams in performance improvement and the incorporation of evidence-based practice protocols into the daily operations of the stroke program. Responsible for analyzing outcomes to determine root causes of variation and developing corrective actions to improve stroke outcomes and performance. Responsible for leading Stroke Program Managers, stroke navigators, stroke abstractors and other stroke team members as assigned. Collaborates with professional organizations to further community education and awareness about stroke prevention and treatment. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value you'll bring to the team: Responsible for serving as the stroke program clinical content expert through skilled knowledge of clinical stroke evidence-based guidelines, national accreditation standards and regulatory (state and federal) stroke program requirements. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current trends and clinical practice by attending national conferences, continuing education programs and review of current evidence-based literature. Leads the stroke interdisciplinary committee(s), in partnership with the stroke medical director to improve clinical performance, standardize clinical processes, ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Responsible for identifying variations in care and leads the development of corrective action plans to improve performance. Leads mortality and morbidity committee (as assigned) to review clinical opportunities to improve clinical outcomes. Leads the initial and ongoing national accreditation process for assigned campus(es) by leading readiness rounds, mock stroke alerts, education, and maintaining documentation to meet all accreditation standards. During accreditation site visits serves as stroke program lead for the campus, including formulation of any corrective actions, in collaboration with campus Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer to maintain stroke accreditation. Responsible for the clinical development and ongoing review of evidence-based clinical pathways to standardize stroke care across the continuum. Continually reviews clinical guidelines and updates clinical pathways to ensure delivery of evidence-based care. Responsible for leading stakeholder and interdisciplinary committee approval process for timely implementation and updates of clinical pathways (as assigned). Responsible for continuously evaluating stroke program metric performance, ensuring accurate public reporting of process and registry measures. Ensures registry outcome data accurately reflects clinical care provided, shares outcomes routinely with committees and clinical campus leadership. Responsible for providing real-time feedback to campuses on stroke patients and processes to drive performance improvement. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, related field of study with three (3) years of acute care, critical care, neuroscience related nursing care Required 5 nursing experience acute care, critical care, neuroscience related nursing care Required 2 progressive leadership experience Required RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current valid State of Florida or multi state license Required BCLS - Basic Life Support Required Experience in quality, process improvement or safety related work Required Experience leading organization accreditation or certification Required Preferred qualifications: Experience working in large healthcare systems neuroscience service line Preferred Experience as stroke coordinator or with accreditation of stroke programs Preferred CNRN - Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse Preferred or CCRN - Critical Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Neonatal, and Pediatric Acute) Preferred SCRN - Stroke Certified Registered Nurse Preferred Certification in a Performance Improvement methodology such as: Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management Upon Hire Preferred National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification from the America Heart Association or American Stroke Association Upon Hire Preferred This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
