Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist
State of Wyoming is offering a position for a Physical Therapist in Lander, WY. The salary range is $5,636.27 to $6,262.52 monthly. This is a permanent full-time position.
The Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) in Lander, which serves individuals with intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury, and mental health challenges, is seeking a Physical Therapist. WLRC is a unique facility that includes an Intermediate Care Facility and a Skilled Nursing Facility.
The essential functions of this role include:
- Acting as an active member of an interdisciplinary team for a caseload of residents.
- Performing therapeutic evaluations of residents.
- Documenting intervention plans and tracking progress.
- Developing and implementing therapeutic treatment programs.
- Providing therapeutic activities to improve daily living, vocational, and leisure skills.
- Evaluating individual needs for therapeutic adaptive equipment.
- Training staff in therapeutic skills and activities.
- Consulting with medical providers and other staff regarding resident needs.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of specific therapeutic programs.
- Training staff in safe handling and positioning of clients.
- Designating individuals for specialty orthotic clinics and monitoring orthotic use.
- Recommending and obtaining modified footwear to meet individual needs.
The qualifications for this position include:
- Knowledge of physical therapy practice, principles, and procedures.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, and neurology related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal function and disability.
- Ability to write assessments, job aides, and guidelines and the ability to teach and train others.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Skills in verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform basic first aid and CPR.
- Ability to work with and around WLRC residents.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Physical Therapy).
- Experience: 0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Physical Therapy).
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Licensure or eligible for licensure in the State of Wyoming as a Physical Therapist.
Physical working conditions include:
- Ability to safely move, position, and lift people with multiple and severe disabilities.
- Ability to monitor sounds, noises, and location of clients to assure safety.
- Ability to use behavior management techniques and intervene during resident behavior episodes.
