Open Enrollment and Benefits Specialist (Contract-to-Hire

Location: Carson, CA

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $30$35/hour (based on experience)

About the Role:

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Open Enrollment and Benefits Specialist to join our client's team in Carson, CA. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in benefits administration, employee support, and open enrollment processes. The position starts as a contract with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the open enrollment process, including employee communications, system updates, and vendor coordination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Administer benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and benefits systems.
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless benefits administration.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and benefits reconciliations.
  • Provide support for onboarding and offboarding processes related to benefits.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of open enrollment processes and benefits compliance.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with benefits platforms such as ADP, Workday, or similar.
  • Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA regulations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
